INEC Declares Muhammadu Buhari 2019 Presidential Winner

President #Muhammadu #Buhari of the All Progressives' Congress (APC) has been declared the 2019 President-Elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) having defeated his closest rival; Alhaji #Atiku #Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

According to the Chairman #INEC and Chief Returning Officer, Professor #Mahmoud #Yakubu who announced the results early this morning, said having satisfied the requirements of the law, the APC scored 15,191,847 to emerge winner of the 2019 Presidential election trailed by PDP-scoring 11,262,978votes.

Elton John has paid his tribute to Mac Miller, the rapper who was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Friday after an alleged drug overdose.
Mac Miller passed away at the young age of 26 and reacting to the news of his passing, many of his colleagues in the industry have talked about his good spirit, how he was an inspiration.
“[I] was a fan of his spirit,” said Late Late Show host James Corden. While Chance the Rapper added, “He was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew … I loved him for real. We lost an inspiration to fans and many musicians. you’re a musical icon forever.”

Oshiomole Defends Fayemi in Vote-Buying Scandal in Ekiti State

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Adams Oshiomhole, has said that the Governor-Elect of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, does not have the financial capability for vote-buying.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Roadmap 2019 two months after Fayemi won the contentious poll, Mr Oshiomhole said the former minister barely saw the campaign through.
“No one can claim that Fayemi is a rich man, I know he was struggling to find money to mobilise and to sustain his campaign,” he said.
He, however, claimed it was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the incumbent government that had access to such resources.

Usain Bolt Takes Break from Football

Sprint legend Usain Bolt has put a halt to his football training after he flew out of Australia for a “previously planned commitment”, his A-League club has said.
This comes barely a month after the Jamaican superstar arrived in Gosford, 75 kilometres (47 miles) north of Sydney for training with the Central Coast Mariners in pursuit of his long-held dream of playing professional football.
The 32-year-old has been with the A-League side for three weeks and in late August made a 20-minute appearance for the club in a pre-season game.
“Usain Bolt will be abroad from Sunday, 9 September to Sunday, 16 September for a previously planned commitment,” the Mariners said on Saturday.
“This commitment was agreed between Usain Bolt and the Central Coast Mariners before his training period commenced with the club.”

2019 election: Buhari ready to give up power for progress of Nigeria

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari is ready to give up power for Nigeria to move forward.

He also maintained that no politician currently in the country can defeat President Buhari in election.
The governor also spoke on the recent report on restructuring which the All Progressive Congress, APC, committee headed by him, submitted to the party.

El-Rufai in an interview on Channels Television, said, “I do not have any doubt in my mind that we are going to win the next elections; not only in the centre but we are going to preserve our 24 states, and even more.

Barcelona shirts banned in Saudi Arabia with possible 15-year prison Sentence & £120k fine

The Saudi authorities have banned football fans from wearing Barcelona shirt which is being sponsored by Qatar Airways, with a possible 15-year prison sentence and £120,000 fine if anyone is caught. The ban comes after Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Libya, Yemen and the Maldives cut off all ties with its neighbor, after they accused Qatar of supporting extremist groups. Although, Qatar have rejected the claims.
According to Sky Italy, those caught wearing shirts with the Qatar Airways wording now face a £120,000k fine and up to 15 years in prison.

Police arrest 63 suspects over lynching of alleged ‘witch’ in Ghana

The Bolgatanga Police Command in the Upper East Region of Ghana, have arrested 63 suspects in connection with the lynching of a 67-year old woman at Penlugu market who was accused of being a witch.
The 63 suspects were picked up in a raid on Saturday at Pelungu and Tindongo, and are currently in custody, where they would be screened for identification.
The victim, Yenboka Kenna, age 67, was accused of witchcraft by some residents of the area and was sent to the Chief of Pelungu Naab Sobil Sore (IV) who later discharged her of not being guilty. 

Governor Fayose condemns Northern Youths ultimatum to Igbos to leave north

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has condemned the ultimatum given by some Northern youths to the Igbos living in the Northern part of Nigeria to leave, saying; “such reckless pronouncement could only come from a group of irresponsible and jobless youths."

Special Assistant to the governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka said in a statement issued 
on Sunday, that the governor chided the Northern youths for making such pronouncement at a time Nigerians needed to join hands together for the development of the nation.

Policeman shoots wife, maid, kills self in Nasarawa State

A Nigerian police officer identified as Sgt Thomas Agada, attached to the Nasarawa State Police Command, shot and killed himself at Masaka in Karu Local Government Area of the state yesterday June 11th.

According to reports, the deceased police officers shot and injured his wife and his maid at their shop around De Memories Hotel in Masaka before killing himself.
