Elton John Dedicates Pennsylvania Performance to Late Mac Miller

Elton John has paid his tribute to Mac Miller, the rapper who was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Friday after an alleged drug overdose.
Mac Miller passed away at the young age of 26 and reacting to the news of his passing, many of his colleagues in the industry have talked about his good spirit, how he was an inspiration.
“[I] was a fan of his spirit,” said Late Late Show host James Corden. While Chance the Rapper added, “He was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew … I loved him for real. We lost an inspiration to fans and many musicians. you’re a musical icon forever.”

Marvin Gaye would have been 78 years old on April 2nd, 2017 but the legend met his death in the hands of his father in 1984.
Ironically, the Soul singer was shot twice with the 38 special caliber pistol he had bought for his father to use for protection.
Before his death in 1984, Gaye first attained success in the 1960s, eventually getting a song ‘I Heard It Through the Grapevine’ to reach the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list in 1968.

45 Serving, Ex-Presidents Expected to Grace Obasanjo’s 80th Birthday Celebration

At least 45 serving and past presidents across the globe are expected to grace the 80th birthday ceremony of former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, an official has said.
The Chairman, Publicity and Media Sub-committee of ‘Obasanjo at 80’, Dayo Adeneye, stated this on Wednesday while speaking with journalists.
Mr. Adeneye, who is the Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, said the high point of the ceremony will include the commissioning of the multi-billion naira Presidential Library and Mosque projects in Abeokuta.
He described Mr. Obasanjo as a worthy, exemplary leader worthy of emulation and architect of modern Nigeria.

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali dies aged 74

The former world heavyweight boxing champion, one of the world's best-known sportsmen, died at a hospital in the US city of Phoenix in Arizona state after being admitted on Thursday.
He was suffering from a respiratory illness, a condition that was complicated by Parkinson's disease.
The funeral will take place in Ali's hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, his family said in a statement.
Born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Ali shot to fame by winning light-heavyweight gold at the 1960 Rome Olympics.
Nicknamed "The Greatest", the American beat Sonny Liston in 1964 to win his first world title and became the first boxer to capture a world heavyweight title on three separate occasions.
He eventually retired in 1981, having won 56 of his 61 fights.

Nigeria’s music superstar, 2face Idibia has further cemented his growing legendary status following being honoured with a prestigious award.
2face has just been inducted into The Headies Hall of Fame at The Headies 2015. The award was presented by media mogul turned politician, Ben Murray Bruce who also delivered an inspiring speech in honour of the singer.
While acknowledging the honour, 2face thanked everyone who has supported him while also appreciating former band mate, Faze who was also on hand to cheer him.

Italian joint to sell 'Bob Marley' hemp seed ice cream

A north Italy-based ice cream parlour in the small resort town of Alassio – which is seven square miles with a population of approximately 11,000 – hopes to begin selling its Bob Marley inspired hemp treats before year end.
The parlour teamed with the Canapa Ligura organisation best known for promoting awareness of the health benefits associated with hemp to create the ice cream flavour as a tribute to the late reggae icon.

Miss Universe Winner sends message to Miss Colombia after crowning mistake


Miss Universe winner Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach penned a message praising Miss Colombia after Steve Harvey mistakenly awarded her the crown during last Sunday's telecast.
"To Ariadna, you are an amazing woman and we are now bonded together forever by a unique experience," she wrote to Ariadna Gutierrez on Miss Universe's official Instagram page. "In the last 3 weeks we were together, I saw how strong and beautiful you are inside and out. You represented your country with honor and I know how proud everyone must be of you. Fate has a plan for you, and I'm excited to see what's ahead."

Steve Harvey, the man who famously gave the Miss Universe crown to the wrong contestant, has now offered the world Easter greetings on Christmas day.
"Merry Easter, y'all!" ran the caption to a picture of smiling Harvey, smoking a cigar and flashing a peace sign. The picture was posted Friday on Harvey's social media accounts.

Newly crowned Miss Iraq receives threatening phone call: Join ISIS or else


Miss Iraq 2015, Shaymaa Qasim has been warned by terrorist group ISIS in a spine chilling phone call that she will be abducted unless she joins them. According to the Jerusalem Post and Kuwaiti daily al-Watan, Student Shaymaa, who is Iraqi’s first beauty queen since 1972 was told to join the caliphate or face being kidnapped. But Shaymaa says she’s not scared of the threat.
The beauty queen speaking to NBC News said she was determined to show her confidence because she wasn’t doing anything wrong.
