MTN gives mobility aids to physically-challenged persons

The MTN Foundation on Friday 22/11/2013 reached out to the physically-challenged in Oyo State with the distribution of mobility aids and appliances under the 4th phase of the disability support project.
At an event held in Ibadan, where the materials were distributed to about 500 beneficiaries of the scheme, Chairman of the foundation, Hamzat Ahmadu, who was represented by the company’s Senior Manager, Commercial Legal, Mr. Rotimi Odusola, said the initiative was part of the company’s social responsibilities to the public irrespective of status or background.
He said, “This initiative is predicated on our belief that by accepting and empowering our fellow citizens, we are not only performing a humane and noble deed, but are also contributing to the socio-economic development of our country.
A man or a woman who is able to move around with a wheelchair will be better able to engage in a meaningful income-generating activity, thus earning a living and taking care of his family.
