Arsenal's injury problems worsen with Giroud and Gibbs out

Arsenal are facing something of an injury crisis, with Olivier Giroud and Kieran Gibbs the latest to pick up problems.
Arsène Wenger could find selecting a starting 11 for Wednesday's game against Cardiff City tricky, with the Gunners facing an injury crisis. The latest additions to their lengthy injury list are Olivier Giroud and Kieran Gibbs, with the former reportedly sustaining an ankle against Newcastle, and the latter a calf strain. Both will definitely miss the Cardiff game, but fortunately shouldn't be out for too long.
Gibbs and Giroud are just the tip of the iceberg, with on-form Aaron Ramsey also out with a thigh problem, and summer marquee signing Mesut Özil a shoulder injury. With Tomáš Rosický and Jack Wilshere both facing late fitness tests, the Gunners are left looking extremely bare both up front and in midfield.
Nicklas Bendtner will almost certainly fill in for Giroud as the lone striker, while Nacho Monreal will likely make only his third Premier League start of the season at left-back.
