Nigerian Entertainment Round-up: Donjazzy’s Mavin Records signs on new artiste’ Di’Ja

Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has warned Nigerian bloggers not to refer to her daughters as sexy, threatening to bring erring bloggers to book.
The blogosphere on Tuesday got fired up with pictures of Omotola’s second daughter, Meraiah, with some blogs calling the teenager “hot” and “sexy.”
Omotola took to her Facebook page to express her displeasure.
“Thank you to everyone who wished Meraiah a happy birthday. However, going to a 14 year old’s “private” online account to post her pictures for public viewing is totally inappropriate. Her father and I are horrified as parents and guardian that a minor’s picture can be paraded online as hot”,”sexy” etc…” she wrote.
She also acknowledged the misguided good intentions behind the posts but stated that a line must be drawn “in a world full of pedophiles and sickos.”
“Any child under 18 should be protected by us all and if their parents/guardian haven’t given you the okay to publish information especially “private” of their child, doing so, it’s against the law. I hope you all understand thanks. Omotola,” she wrote.

Ice Prince says he asked Clarence Peters to jack ‘Aboki’ video idea.
Rapper, Ice Prince Zamani, has stated that he asked music video director, Clarence Peters, to jack the concept of his Aboki video from Slaughterhouse’s video.
Ice Prince, disregarding the copyright infringement aspect of appropriating or incorporating someone’s work into one’s own without permission, also declared that Clarence Peters should be praised for a job well done on the video.
“I don’t think anything is wrong with that, if anybody has a problem with that they should sue me. It was an idea I shared with Clarence, it’s not Clarence’s fault in any way. I wanted to achieve that and shout out to Clarence the genius who was able to put that idea together, I loved it at the end of the day,” he told HipHopWorld.
Donjazzy’s Mavin Records signs on new artiste’ Di’Ja
Following the exit of Wande Coal, Mavin Records CEO, Don Jazzy, has signed on new artiste, Hadiza ‘Di’Ja’ Blell.
Di’Ja debuts with her the single, Yaro.
She has previously made waves in Canada were she was nominated for the Best Urban/R&B Single at the 2009 Canadian Radio Music Awards and won the 2008 Best New Artiste award at the Beat Awards.
“Di’Ja represents the new generation of Nigerian music. She is versatile and adaptable. No experience in the studio with her is ever the same as the last. Our fans, friends and good music lovers are in for an interesting musical journey planned ahead,” Don Jazzy said on Friday.
She joins Dr Sid, Tiwa Savage, D’Prince and Don Jazzy at Mavin.
