A student at University of Illinois
at Chicago has been charged with sexual assault after he allegedly re-enacted
scenes from "Fifty Shades of Grey" on a female student. The 19-year-old
Mohammad Hossain asked the woman to remove her clothing and then bound her
hands above her head with a belt. He then used an additional belt to bind her
legs and stuffed a necktie into her mouth.
Assistant State's Attorney Sarah
Karr tells the Tribune that Hossain put a knit cap over woman's eyes, and
removed her undergarments. While Hossain was striking the woman with a belt,
she told him to stop "and began shaking her head and crying."
Karr reports that Hossain continued
striking the woman, also with his fists. He then sexually assaulted her as she
consistently asked him to stop.
USA Today reports Hossain's
roommate came to their dorm room after the incident. Hossain blocked the door
so the roommate could not enter.
According to prosecutors, the woman
contacted authorities after leaving the dorm. Hossain posted a Facebook status
about an hour after the crime that read, "I'm finally satisfied," USA
Today says.
New York Daily News reports
Hossain allegedly admitted to assaulting the woman and "doing something
wrong." He cited "Fifty Shades of Grey" as his inspiration for
the assault.
Hossain was charged with aggravated
criminal sexual assault and a Cook County judge set a $500,000 bail, USA Today
adds.
