Sports Minister hails Dream Team for picking Rio ticket

The Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalong has congratulated the Dream Team for picking a ticket to play in the men’s football at the 2016 Rio Olympics
Dream Team yesterday secured their
ticket to fly Nigeria’s flag at the summer Games, following a nail-biting 1-0
win against hosts Senegal at the Leopod Senghor Stadium in Dakar.
Oil Marketers Get N407bn Subsidy Payment
The Federal Government of Nigeria has agreed the immediate payment of N407 billion ($2.1 billion) owed to fuel importers under a subsidy scheme, the finance ministry said on Wednesday. Tanzanian President John Magufuli surprised
onlookers on Wednesday when he walked out of State House to collect rubbish off

My Victory will be secure at the Election tribunal - Wada
Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris
Ichala Wada has assured his supporters that the election tribunal will do
justice to the confusion surrounding the governorship polls. Addressing Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, stakeholders at the Government House, Lokoja, Tuesday,
the governor said the tribunal will soon decide whether it is legal for a political
party to have two candidates in the course of election and whether a person’s
votes could be transferred to another person.
Wada said his decision to challenge
the result of the election is not personal but in order to seek proper
interpretation of the law and relevant sections of the constitution and the
Electoral Act in connection with the election.
Benue South rerun: David Mark, Dan Onjeh tear Idoma students apart
The National Association of Idoma
Students, NAIS, University of Lagos chapter, has described as unfortunate the
endorsement of former Senate President, David Mark by the national body.
NAIS, had in a recent statement
endorsed the candidature of Mark for the forthcoming senatorial rerun election
in Benue South.
The students' union in a statement
jointly signed by its leaders, Igoche Egwa and Tony Onazi, slammed Mark's
opponent, Dan Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress for insulting the former
senate president whom they claimed paid his school fees.

The Immediate past President of the Nigeria Senate, Senator David Mark has assured that Benue South Senatorial zone will remain impenetrable for the opposition, All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming re-run election.
This he said is anchored on the overwhelming solidarity and support "by my people who are solidly behind me. I can tell you without any fear of contradiction that there is no opposition to my party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in my zone".
