Solomon Dalong: Minister warns factional NFF President, Giwa


Nigeria Football Federation is boiling up for another crisis, as Chris Giwa is spoiling for action to reclaim the leadership of the nation’s soccer ruling body come January 2016.
But he has been warned by Youth and Sports minister, Solomon Dalung not to foment trouble that could upset the smooth running of football as the country prepares for major tournaments in 2016.
Giwa, is still insisting that he is the elected president of the NFF and has submitted a petition to the Sports minister to that effect.

Employ professionals Teachers only, NUT tells FG


The Nigeria Union of Teachers has commended the Federal Government in its plan to recruit five hundred thousand teachers for the nation’s basic education and secondary schools.
In a statement in Abuja by its Secretary General, Obong Ikpe Obong, the Union warned against using the policy as a means of compensation for political patronage as was the practice in the past.

Hell was let loose at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, South-South Region 11, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Sunday as aggrieved worshipers grounded the Sunday service over alleged mismanagement of church funds and unjustified sack of the pastor.
The infuriated protesters, who carried placards with different inscriptions, barricaded the entrance to the church premises with cars, demanding the immediate reinstatement of the sacked Regional Overseer of the church, Pastor Lanre Adekunle.

Italian joint to sell 'Bob Marley' hemp seed ice cream

A north Italy-based ice cream parlour in the small resort town of Alassio – which is seven square miles with a population of approximately 11,000 – hopes to begin selling its Bob Marley inspired hemp treats before year end.
The parlour teamed with the Canapa Ligura organisation best known for promoting awareness of the health benefits associated with hemp to create the ice cream flavour as a tribute to the late reggae icon.

President Buhari to hold maiden presidential media chat On Wednesday

President Muhammadu Buhari will hold his maiden media chat on Wednesday at the State House, Abuja.
Sources at the Villa said the chat, is slated for 7pm, would be aired live on television and radio stations as well as other platforms.

Nigeria to build 10,000 health facilities in 774 councils


The Nigeria Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, has advised health workers to put service delivery above personal interest.
He also said that 10,000 primary health facilities would be built in the 774 local government areas across the country for effective service delivery and to reduce pressure on tertiary institutions.
